Privacy Policy — All Document Reader

Effective date: 1 October 2026  ·  Last updated: 1 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how All Document Reader (“the app”) handles your information. The app is developed by AB Apps (“we”, “us”). By using the app you agree to this policy. Please also read our Terms of Use.

Short version: your documents, scans, signatures and passwords are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us. To keep the app free, it shows ads (Google AdMob) and uses Google Firebase to measure app usage and report crashes. Those services receive device identifiers and usage information, not the contents of your files. Premium subscribers do not see ads.

1. Your files stay on your device

Everything the app does with your documents happens locally on your phone or tablet:

We do not upload, copy off the device, store on a server, sell or share your documents, their contents, file names or file paths, your camera images, scanned QR code contents, the passwords you set on PDFs, or the signatures you draw. When you choose to print or share a file, it goes to the app or printer you select, under that app’s own privacy policy.

2. Information collected automatically

The app uses the following third-party services. Each receives only the information listed, and each is governed by its own privacy policy.

ServicePurposeInformation involved
Google AdMob Showing ads in the free version, measuring ad performance, preventing fraud Advertising ID, IP address (used for approximate location), device model, operating system, language, app version, ad interactions. Ads may be personalized only where you have consented or where consent is not required.

We never send file names, file paths, document text, search text, QR contents, passwords or email addresses.
Firebase Crashlytics Finding and fixing crashes Crash and error reports (stack traces), device model, OS version, free memory and disk, app version, an installation identifier, and the app events that led up to the crash.
Firebase Remote Config Turning features, ads and update prompts on or off without a new release Firebase installation ID, app version, country and language.
Google Play Billing Selling and verifying Premium subscriptions Google processes your payment. We receive only the purchase token, product, and subscription status. We never see your card or payment details.
Google Play In-App Updates Telling you when a new version is available Handled by the Google Play Store on your device.
Google ML Kit (QR scanning) Decoding QR codes on the device QR images are processed on the device. ML Kit may send Google diagnostic metrics about how the scanning feature performs. It does not send the images or the codes’ contents.

Information sent to these services is encrypted in transit. Google may process it on servers outside your country, including in the United States.

3. Ads and your consent choices

4. Permissions we request, and why

All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — Android 11 and above

The app is a document file manager. It needs this permission to find every document on your device automatically, to search across your storage, to rename, move and delete files where they live, and to save the PDFs and documents its tools create. We read file names, sizes, dates and locations to list them, and we read a file’s contents only when you open it or run a tool on it. We never upload your files or use this access for advertising or analytics.

Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — Android 10 and below

Used the same way as All files access on older Android versions.

Camera (CAMERA)

Requested only when you use Scan to PDF or QR Scan. Camera images are processed on the device and are not uploaded.

Internet and network state

Used to load ads, send analytics and crash reports, fetch remote settings, and process purchases. Your documents are never sent over the network.

Advertising ID (AD_ID) and ad attribution

Added by the Google ads SDK to show and measure ads, as described in section 3.

Billing (BILLING)

Lets you buy a Premium subscription through Google Play.

You can decline or revoke permissions in Settings → Apps → All Document Reader → Permissions. Features that need a permission will stop working, and revoking a permission never deletes your files.

5. Data stored on your device

To work quickly and offline, the app keeps a small database in its private storage on your device. It holds:

This data is never transmitted. It is deleted when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.

6. How long information is kept

7. Sale and sharing of personal information

We do not sell your personal information for money. The use of advertising identifiers for personalized ads may count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some US state laws. You can opt out using Settings → Privacy options in the app or by deleting your advertising ID, as described in section 3.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. We do not hold your name, email or files, and the identifiers above are random IDs. That means:

Our legal bases for processing (for GDPR) are your consent (for personalized ads), and our legitimate interest in keeping the app working, secure and free (for analytics, crash reporting and non-personalized ads). You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will help delete it.

10. Security

Your documents never leave your device unless you share them yourself. Data the app stores locally sits in its private storage, which Android protects from other apps. Data sent to the services above is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date and publish the new version at this address. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will tell you in the app or on the Google Play listing.
